Hey Gretchen Wilson here and today's question comes from Dawn Evanski in Romulus, Michigan. Dawn's question is, "What is your most favorite childhood memory?"

I've got a lot of childhood memories, some great, some not so great. But I would have to say the one that sticks out the most is with my Grandma. Almost every moment that I got to spend with my Grandma really sticks out in my mind. She was such a wonderful person in my life. My favorite times were going outside and she had a vegetable garden. Her entire one-acre lot was surrounded by blackberry bushes, so going out and picking blackberries and coming back into the house and making rhubarb pies and stuff like that, those were some of the best memories that really stand out for me as a child.

That's all we have time for today; make sure you tune back in tomorrow.

Childhood Memories

I was touched by your memories of your grandmother. Being abandoned by alcoholic parents, we wound up in the mountains of NC. I have such fond memories of my great grandmother:
the aromas of her cooking on her wood stove;
letting me brush her hip-length silver hair and watching in amazement as she twirled it into a perfect 8 and stuck in her plastic pins; gathering food from the garden and the land with her...I could live off that land down there!

Memories of Great grandpa playing his ol' hollow back banjo and all the "kin folk" gathering on weekends with their instruments to "make music"

But, alas, those hills are silent now...the tradition has died, but you can bet yer booty that I have lots of their music on CDs now.

I relate to you Gretchen as I am a 62 yo "retared
red neck woman"....body give out after too many falls from the saddle, etc.

I have a buncha poems from the heart if ya ever get to huntin' material...you and John...got one called "Jack Daniel's Blues" that I think you could do really well on...*sigh*

Survivor on disability in Ohio who LOVES you!!!!!
