Blake Well Mary, both, to answer your question. I had an uncle who knew about four or five chords on a guitar and he passed them along to me when I was about 14 or 15 years old. But beyond that I had to teach myself if I wanted to continue doing it. It was never a question for me that I was going to sing country music. I don't think that I really had a choice in it. Whenever I open my mouth, it just sounds country.
