From Vegas with Love

Well I survived my first full day here in Vegas! I say "survived" because this is a place where you can "over do it" with everything - food to spending cash fast! I only lost 15 bucks on the roulette table. I am not a gambler that's for sure!

When I arrived in the morning I had time to grab some food and head to the GAC Production room to have a meeting about what Nan and I are to wear on the ACM Orange Carpet. We had to look over my two dresses that I brought and the 30 that Nan brought to see what look best for the event. Ha! Yea, I didn't bring many choices, I always find that's best for me. Jeans and boots weren't gonna cut it on this event. I thought I was going with this blue/purple dress but everyone decided on this orange colored dress. I had already gotten my toenails done to match the purple so I hope no one looks at my feet tonight!

Speaking of feet - Brooks and Dunn have been honored with the ACM/Home Depot Humanitarian Award. So Nan and I had taped a fun bit with the guys in the loading dock area of the MGM Grand. We had set up a little kiddie pool with some chairs and had the guys join us to talk about their Humanitarian award. The only problem? The guys just wanted to talk about our feet and George Strait's feet. It's a long story you'll have to tune into to our live coverage to check this one out. Needless to say we didn't get to talk about the fact that they are building two community playgrounds in two different cities. Every artist who receives this honor teams up with Home Depot to build a playground in a city of their choice. So Ronnie said since they were a duo, they wanted to each do their own. Pretty cool right.

So you can't walk around this place without bumping into someone in the industry, artists and record label folks. I keep running into some of the guys from Emerson Drive. Getting off the elevator I ran into a sweaty Eric Church. He had just gotten back from the gym while I was on my way to go eat. I gave him a hard time about making me feel guilty that I wasn't working out! Ha!

Can I tell you guys how sweet Eddie Montgomery is - Now you fans already know that - but I was standing outside this restaurant inside the MGM Grand - which by the way, no one ever leaves - I swear you don't see the sun while you're at this event! Anyway, I was waiting on friends to finish their cigarettes (I think am one of the few people who don't smoke) and I must've looked like a big ole loser - Eddie came up to make sure that I wasn't dining alone. Nice guy!

Spotted Blake Shelton signing autographs by the elevators, he's here to present tonight. Big Kenny and his wife Christiev were very happy after doing great at Big and Rich's first ACM poker celebrity tournament.

Oh ran into Tracy Byrd who isn't here for the ACM's, but had played a show here so he was here with his wife - I ran into them while I was getting something to eat - I swear I haven't eaten a lot! It's just getting a little bit here or there :)

Last night all the artists voted in the ACM Top New categories put on a show at the hotel. I didn't get to stay for all of it but I heard that it was a great night for music. Chris Young to Rodney Atkins, Miranda to Kellie Pickler and Taylor Swift all took the stage. All these artists will be walking the carpet and some for the first time! It’s gotta be an exciting night for these guys!! Well I better start getting ready - Rehearsals, makeup and then we are live! Hope you guys are able to catch it! I'll let you know how it goes!
