Home from Texas

It's good to be back home!

Even though we did make the most of it and we did have fun we were all getting tired of the mud at Country Thunder. The last day of shooting in Texas actually turned out to be rain free, although most of the area was flooded. The entire day of concerts went on that day which was cool for everyone! And the icing on the cake, we were able to grab some time with Lorrie Morgan, who can I say, just looks unbelievably gorgeous! That woman is just beautiful! I think when she comes into the studio we need to talk about her rituals - from her exercising regime to her use of makeup and products. So ladies look for that show!

We also were able to get time with REBA before she took the stage. Reba always looks great and she is always ready to entertain. We talked mostly about the new duets CD coming out on Sept 18th. After my interview I went up to the side of the stage to watch her perform. Man, she has it down! It's like watching a play with her. She almost does a time line of her career, talking about coming to Nashville to reaching her first number one with "How Blue" and in between the stories there's the music. She brought along a 10 piece band.

It occurred to me, as I was watching her show that I have followed her career for 20 years! That's nuts!! I didn't know I was even old enough to like someone that long! HA! Really since high school I have been a Reba fanatic and watching her show reminded me of why I got into country radio/tv. It truly was because of Reba's music. It was pretty surreal to sit there Saturday night and think about that and think about what I am doing all these years later, still talking to her, still listening to her music, which is now on my ipod - that word didn't even exist back then! Strange! Look for the shows from this "event" - hee - to air on GAC Nights first week of July!

Oh...get this..we are sitting on the plane, waiting to head out of Dallas and then…(sfx: da-da-da-dom) There is an electrical problem and we had to deplane!! Can you believe it? So we had to move to a different flight- We arrived in Nashville at 6pm. Our luggage? Got into Nashville at 10pm! What a weekend! We were just glad to get our luggage! Especially Tommy Z-our camera guy who had thousands of dollars worth of equipment! That would've stunk! I would've just lost my new blow dryer! Ha!!

Well…we are getting ready for the next big festival! FAN FAIR! Okay…sorry…the real name -CMA Music Festival. By the way, Reba will be there! Her first time back in 11 years! When I asked her why she decided to play this year? Her answer? Simply put- The Fans.
