Week in review

What a week..what a couple of weeks!

The whole crew at GAC has felt like we have gone from Vegas to Dallas to Fan Fair. It’s really felt non stop. Not that I’m complaining! I love this gig and I would be miserable not doing this! I can’t imagine Fan Fair going on and not covering it! Talk about a state of depression! A lot of the artists during the interviews would say: “well this is our worst day”.. And I know what they meant. Not that it was their worst day, it was just a day that was hectic. They had some tough schedules to keep. Many getting up at 5am and for an artist that’s nuts and going till 11pm or midnight. Let’s see-Oh how cool to spend time with Emerson Drive during fan fair and see them celebrate their first number one song! The girls, women, that work on gactv.com covered Emerson Drive to you guys a “day in the life of” as well as a Q&A with Brad Mates. So be sure to check it out!

Cledus T Judd aka Barry Poole looked like a different man! Have you guys watched him on celebrity fit club? I mean, he’s a different guy! He looks great! And boy he got pretty serious. He told me that he was so happy to bring his little 3 year old Caitlynn to Disney and that he never had that chance as a kid. And made this major proclamation in the interview!-That he is going to give all the proceeds from his albums from here on out to charity. He wants all kids to have the chance to experience Disney and to have that memory as children! It was pretty intense! I told him that was extremely commendable. I mean let’s be honest-Cledus has to make a living- but he said he’ll make it elsewhere. So be sure to buy up his new cd-Boogity Boogity! It’s all going to charity!! I’m on way now to go pick up a few!!

Oh after my last interview at Fan Fair I headed, for the first time during the event over to the night shows! It was Sunday night and I was able to catch all the new girls- Miranda, Kellie Pickler, Taylor Swift- Gretchen showed up as a surprise to the audience- Big and Rich played too!

Taylor had an eventful day to say the least! She was given a platinum plaque, signifying sales of over a million! We were there to cover it! Very cool! She unfortunately had been sick!  I felt bad for her! But she was a major trooper! And put on a great show! Man, the audience just loves her!! I watched a boy who must’ve been about 7 sing all the words to her song and then the camera switched to a woman in the front of the crowd also mouthing every line Taylor sang- That woman looked about 50- It’s amazing! She has such a large audience of every age! It’s really neat to see that-and to have watched that from the beginning when people were just finding out about her music!

Welp..getting back into the swing of things..back to the norm! I know that the crew if they heard me would smack me- but I miss the excitement and energy of fan fair already! Hey- be sure to get your tix for next year!! Really you guys. Don’t miss it!!

Talk at you later- S

Dear Suzanne,

Thank you for interviewing PovertyNeck Hillbillies on GAC Nights from the CMA Music Festival. I was lucky enough to be able to see their performance on June 7th at the Riverfront and at the Hard Rock Cafe after hours concert. They rocked Nashville that is for sure. Could you please get them in for an interview on your show? It would give them great exposure and let the world know how great my boys, PovertyNeck Hillbillies are!
